Dindyal survives controversial run-out chaos in CPL 2026

During the second qualifier of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Jamaica Kingsmen at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, Mavendra Dindyal survived a controversial run-out that went viral on social media.

Jamaica beat the Barbados Tridents during the Eliminator by nine wickets in the 145-run chase, while Guyana got their second chance after losing the first qualifier, when they were bundled out for just 76 runs in 15 overs as Antigua and Barbuda Falcons completed the successful chase by nine wickets.

However, their captain, Rovman Powell, played a sensational knock of 40 runs off 17 balls as they now face the Falcons in the CPL 2026 final.

“Obviously, it’s absolutely wet here and stuff like that, but that’s what we had discussed before we went out. This is the challenge, and unfortunately we have to defend it.” Powell expressed this at the post-match presentation.
