MLC 2025: MI New York Beat LA Knight Riders by 6 Runs in a Close Match

In Match 27 of the 2025 Major League Cricket season, MI New York and Los Angeles Knight Riders played a tight game at Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill. LA Knight Riders won the toss and they chose to bowl first, hoping to use the pitch conditions in the first innings. But MI New York’s strong batting and bowlers helped them win by just 6 runs.

MI New York batted first and scored 142 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Kieron Pollard led from the front, hitting 50 runs from 36 balls. Captain Nicholas Pooran added 30 runs in 24 balls, while Michael Bracewell scored 18 runs.

LA Knight Riders’ bowlers did well. Shadley van Schalkwyk was the best, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs in 3 overs. Corne Dry took 2 wickets for 25 runs, and Captain Jason Holder got 2 wickets for 28 runs. Chasing 143 runs, LA Knight Riders ended at 136 for 4 in 20 overs falling 6 runs short. Unmukt Chand fought hard with 59 runs from 48 balls. Sherfane Rutherford made 29 runs from 28 balls, and Alex Hales scored 21 runs from 26 balls.

Kieron Pollard bowled well, he took 1wicket for just 12 runs in 2 overs. Nosthush Kenjige bowled very economical, he gave only 14 runs and took 1 wicket in 3 overs. Ehsan Adil also bowled well, conceding just 9 runs in his single over.
