Washington Freedom maintained their high performance in Match 13 of the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) season with a dominating 7-wicket victory against the Texas Super Kings at Grand Prairie Stadium. Having chosen to bowl first, Washington was up against a powerful batting display by Texas, who scored 220/6 in 20 overs. Faf du Plessis took charge with a flamboyant 69 from 31 deliveries, ably supported by Marcus Stoinis (32 from 24) and Milind Kumar (31 from 18). Mitchell Owen couldn't have asked for a better day with the ball, taking 3/33 off 3 overs, with Glenn Maxwell (2/35) and Rachin Ravindra (1/30) picking up important wickets.

Pursuing a formidable target, Washington staged a clinical chase, courtesy of an all-round brilliance from Owen, who complemented his bowling heroics with an astonishing 89 off 52 balls. He had a match-winning stand with Andries Gous, who stayed not out on 80 off mere 45 deliveries. Captain Glenn Maxwell contributed a quick 20 off 12 balls to finish the chase at 223/3 in 19.4 overs. The victory took Washington to second-place position with 8 points in the points table, just behind the unbeaten San Francisco Unicorns.
