On October 01, 2025, Naqvi revealed that the Indian team is free and welcome to collect the Asia Cup trophy from him at the continental body’s head office in Dubai. In a post on social media, Navi rejected the posts apologizing to the BCCI officials for his actions at the presentation ceremony on September 28.
“As ACC President, I was ready to hand over the trophy that very day, and I am still ready now. If they truly want it, they are welcome to come to the ACC office and collect it from me. Let me make it absolutely clear: I have done nothing wrong and I have never apologised to the BCCI nor will I ever do so.” Naqvi added.
India faced early troubles of losing three quick wickets against Pakistan during the chase in the second innings before Tilka Verma’s fine unbeaten half-century and 33 runs off 22 balls by Shivam Dube helped them chase the target.
