The former captain of the Indian side, MS Dhoni, and the current wicket-keeper of the national side, Rishabh Pant, have been seen together as the latter has been spending time with Dhoni in Ranchi ahead of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, which begins on August 15. They were spotted together in Dhoni’s Thar car.

Rishabh Pant has admired Dhoni so much since the beginning of his career and has learnt a lot of wicket-keeping skills from the veteran. Having been out of the white-ball sides of the blue brigade, he is eager to perform well and make a strong return to the squad.

A video has gone viral on social media platforms where Pant and Dhoni were seen coming out in a Black Mercedes on Sunday afternoon, with the latter being in the driving seat while Pant was right beside him.

In the evening, both were seen to be coming inside Dhoni’s residence in the Black Thar car of Dhoni, who drives the Delhi batter in the house. It has been reported that Pant has been seeking advice and training hard with his idol ahead of the Sri Lanka Test matches.

Dhoni has backed Pant so much in his career, despite all the criticism and pressure. The former World Cup-winning captain has helped him grow as a cricketer from the very first day when the left-handed batter made his debut in the IPL for the Delhi Capitals (DC).

Pant is staying at Dhoni's house and training with him ahead of the Sri Lanka Tests

Recently, Pant eclipsed Dhoni’s long-held record for the most centuries by an Indian wicket-keeper batter when he nailed his seventh century against England at Headingley, as the Ranchi-born set the previous record with his six centuries during his career.

The Indian batter has been in Ranchi for a few days, as he was spotted with Dhoni along with Shahbaz Nadeem, the former left-arm spinner of the Indian side, while they were in a gym session.

Pant has been training under Dhoni at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium in Ranchi. He has always seen Dhoni as an elder brother for his wicket-keeping skills, which improved him as a batter and a wicket-keeper.
