India defeated England by seven runs in the semifinal of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at Wankhede Stadium. Sanju Samson played a brilliant innings and scored 89 runs. Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma also added important runs. With these efforts, India posted 253 runs in the first innings, which became their second-highest total in T20 World Cup history.

England tried to fight back with a brilliant century from Bethell, but India’s bowlers stayed calm in the final overs. Jasprit Bumrah bowled a strong 18th over and gave away only six runs. Hardik Pandya also bowled a tight over before the last one, which helped India stay ahead.

England ended their innings at 246/7, falling short by seven runs. With this win, India reached the final and will now face the New Zealand national cricket team at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, hoping to defend their T20 World Cup title.
