During the first Test of the two-match series between Bangladesh and Pakistan at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, the home pacer, Nahid Rana, produced one of the most hilarious moments of fielding when he fumbled the ball three times while picking from the ground. The video went viral on social media platforms.

When Bangladesh posted a massive score of 413 runs in the first innings, it felt like a good score, and Pakistan was expected to find it hard after being on the field for four sessions. Meanwhile, the surface was a bit up and down, creating issues for the batters in trusting the bounce and pace of the surface.

What happened? Imam flicks to square leg, Rana steams in — then fumbles three times in a row

It was the third session’s play of the second day when Taskin Ahmed charged in to put a short ball into the leg side of Pakistan’s opening batter, Imam-Ul-Haq, who flicked it through his legs and called for the second run. He needed to rush back to his crease.

Watch the video here:

Rana stood at the square leg region when he rushed on and tried to pick the ball off the ground. The first time, he missed holding the ball due to the momentum of his running speed. Secondly, he touched the ball but took his eyes off it while looking at the position of the batter.

On the third attempt, he again missed the ball. At the end, he calmed himself down and grabbed the ball to throw it back to the wicket-keeper. Rana didn’t have a great second day either, as he had figures of 0/47 in nine overs, including a maiden.

What happens on Day 3? Awais unbeaten on 85 and Fazal on 37 — Pakistan's debutants in full control

Earlier in the first innings of the encounter, Bangladesh got bundled out for 413 runs as their captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, smashed a fine knock of 101 runs in 130 balls at a strike rate of 77.39, thanks to 12 boundaries and two sixes. Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque, who celebrated their respective fifties, failed to get their centuries.
