Naman Dhir’s stumping in IND vs WI 4th T20I: batter in his stance at the crease on the left

Just after the dismissal of Abhishek Sharma, the West Indies left-arm spinner, Gudakesh Motie, dismissed the new batter, Naman Dhir, through a controversial stumping during the fourth T20I between India and West Indies at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad as the moment went viral around the social media.

Dhir could have been vital at the situation when India were chasing a massive score of 248 runs. But their decision and selection of going with an extra batter didn’t work out after the dismissal for a golden duck of the right-handed batter.

Naman Dhir stumped first ball as the decision sparks debate

As Abhishek left the field, Naman Dhir walked into the middle and was sent back on his very first ball. Motie got a bit of dip as it also drifted in aa bit. The ball gripped and turned sharply as the right-handed batter reached out for a push-drive and was beaten the turn on the ball.

Dhir lost his balance as his back foot came out of the crease. Shai Hope, the wicket-keeper, was lightning-quick to whip the bails off. He was supremely confident that he had his man, but the third umpire took the time and checked the replays for multiple times.
