“Never offered contract…” – Blessing Muzarabani’s agent breaks silence on PSL 2026 two-year ban
The Zimbabwe star pacer, Blessing Muzarabani, and his agent has broken silence on the two-year ban that he faces from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026.

The Zimbabwe right-arm pacer, Blessing Muzarabani, and his agency have hit back at the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after the pacer was handed a two-year ban. They have argued that they have never signed a formal contract before opting for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.
Muzarabani was initially announced as the replacement as he signed a PSL deal worth PKR 11 million, which is nearly INR 37.40 lakh. However, he later withdrew and signed for the Knights as a replacement for the left-arm Bangladesh pacer, Mustafizur Rahman, which has prompted disciplinary action from the league.
Agent denies claims behind Muzarabani’s PSL ban controversy
Muzarabani’s agent reckoned that they never got any official contract from the Islamabad United apart from the announcement on social media. This leads to no breach of contract, which wasn’t made at all.
“We’ve remained quiet publicly over the last six weeks because we did not wish to create or cause any more animosity. An NOC cannot be obtained without a contract from the PSL,” the statement read, adding that the league and franchise had nevertheless “announced the signing to the world via social media.” The statement of Muzarabani is addressed.
“We feel any ban on participation in the PSL is incredibly excessive and is not consistent with the punishment given to players who have actually breached a contract in the past. We urge the PSL to gracefully withdraw the ban and accept this situation for what it is, an administrative error at their end, nothing more.” It added.
What led to the two-year ban in PSL 2026?
Earlier, the PCB banned the Zimbabwe star for two years after he skipped the PSL. In a statement, the board criticized Blessing Muzarabani for turning down the already signed contract and signing a different contract, as it clearly stated the board wanted to be honest and consistent with their approach.
“In this instance, despite a clear offer and an unequivocal acceptance of essential terms, the player chose to disregard these obligations in favour of a conflicting arrangement. Professionalism in franchise-based leagues requires participants to act with transparency and consistency.” The PCB stated.
In the same manner, the PCB banned the South African pacer, Corbin Bosch, for one year, who pulled out of his deal with Peshawar Zalmi, as the bowler decided to join the Mumbai Indians as a replacement for Lizaad Williams.
