It was a carrom ball from Aliss Al Hasan against Nuwaindu Fernando, who tried to hit the ball over the covers. But he missed it, leaving a clear gap between the bat and ball. However, the Bangladesh side, surprisingly, went for an appeal, and more shockingly, Nitin Menon raised his finger.

Fernando stayed at the crease for a moment, staring at the umpire before going back to the pavilion. There is no Decision Review System (DRS) available during the Asian Games, and the batter was left with no choice but to make the long walk back.
The replay made Menon’s decision look even worse. The ball spun away from the right-handed batter, who didn’t get any bat on the ball. Such things do happen in the field, but that incident went viral on social media platforms.
