India’s assistant coach from the T20 World Cup 2026, Ryan Ten Doeschate, has given a vital medical update on their players ahead of the second group-stage clash against Namibia on February 12 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. He informed that Abhishek Sharma continues to have an upset stomach, which keeps the option of Samju Samson open.

Washington Sundar has joined the team, according to him, and would have a bowl in the evening of February 10, while that would be the same case with the premier pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, who missed the first game due to a fever. Ryan Ten Doeschate also shed light on the marquee clash against Pakistan, getting the green signal.

“First of all, I think it’s great that the game is back on; we never changed our preparation (or thought) that the game wasn’t going to happen. We always had an impression that something would transpire and we would play, so it’s not a big change in the way we go about things.” Ten Doeschate expressed in the press conference.

India’s assistant coach has shared insights on how the India cricket team is preparing for the Pakistan T20 World Cup 2026 match. The team, also known as the Blue Brigade, received confirmation of the fixture only on February 09, which slightly adjusted their training schedule.

“We kind of got confirmation late yesterday. Early this morning, it started coming through that the game was going ahead. It’s always good to have another chance to play against a quality side, and it’s a valuable experience for the team,” he said.

The coach emphasized the importance of staying clear of political differences between India and Pakistan, focusing purely on cricket. “We try to stay neutral on politics. We understand the sentiments in both countries, but our main priority is to bring our best game to this international cricket fixture,” he added.

The team faces a unique challenge going to Colombo, where Pakistan has been preparing for the last two weeks. The assistant coach highlighted that the camp is fully focused on team strategy for the Pakistan clash, ensuring that the Blue Brigade is ready for the upcoming T20 WC 2026 encounter.
