Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player Urvil Patel played a brilliant innings for Gujarat on Day 4 of the Ranji Trophy 2025 match against Bengal at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Tuesday, October 28. The wicketkeeper-batter scored a quick 96-ball century while chasing 327 runs. With this knock, he also helped his team recover from 50/3.

Urvil has shown good form with the bat in his short first-class career for Gujarat. He has scored 458 runs in 11 matches (17 innings), with his highest score of 140 coming against Saurashtra in February this year.

He has also performed well in T20 cricket. The Mehsana-born cricketer holds the record for the fastest T20 century by an Indian, reaching the mark in just 28 balls against Tripura in 2024. He later hit another century off 36 balls against Uttarakhand in the same year.

How did Urvil Patel perform for CSK in IPL 2025?

Urvil Patel was picked mid-season by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as a replacement player during IPL 2025. He made his debut against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), scoring a quick 31 off 11 balls with four sixes and one boundary. However, he got out for a duck against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the next match. He then scored 37 off 19 balls, hitting two sixes and four boundaries against Gujarat Titans (GT).

Overall, Urvil has scored 1230 runs in 50 T20 matches with a strike rate of 172.26, including two centuries and four fifties. After a tough 2025 season, he will aim to help CSK bounce back in the 2026 IPL.
