Babar Azam again disappointed his fans by losing his wicket cheaply during the 2nd of the 3-match ODI (PAK vs SA 2nd ODI) series against South African pacer Nandre Burger at the Iqbal Cricket Stadium in Faisalabad. Azam stepped back towards the dugout after making only 11 runs. It was a good-length delivery from the left-handed pacer.
The delivery, around 139 kmph, angled outside of the right-handed Babar Azam. Azam perhaps did not expect the ball to gain that much bounce and movement. He tried to defend the ball with soft hands but misjudged the line completely. The ball took an outside edge and went towards the first slip cordon with good pace. Donovan Ferreira dived to his left side using his sharp reflexes and made the path for Babar's return to the pavilion clear.
It was a big wicket for South Africa and a disappointment for the Pakistan cricket team. In the previous One Day International match, where Pakistan was the winner, taking a 1-0 lead, the star batter was able to gather only 7 runs. His batting performance in ODIs has been far from the best since August this year.

Nandre Burger picked up 4 wickets including Babar Azam
But, during the T20I series with South Africa, Azam played some promising knocks, especially in the 3rd T20I match, where he bagged a half-century. Overall, Pakistan's batting maestro has been struggling to maintain an average form for months now.
In today's match, Pakistan's batting lineup produced three fifty-plus-run knocks. Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, and Mohammad Nawaz felt their presence with their batting work. Batting first, the home team registered 269 runs in 50 overs in exchange for 9 wickets. South African pacer Burger claimed 4 wickets in his 10-over spell.
