The Pakistan fast bowler Zaman Khan has experienced a significant career setback because of an injury he sustained during the current National T20 Cup 2026 competition. The young pacer reportedly broke his arm while attempting to field in a match, raising serious concerns about his availability for the remainder of the domestic tournament as well as the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026.

The injury happened during a National T20 Cup match when Zaman tried to stop a boundary by diving. While trying to field the ball, he landed awkwardly and injured his arm. Medical assessments later confirmed that the pacer had suffered a fracture, forcing him to leave the field immediately.

The incident has created uncertainty about his upcoming cricketing activities. With PSL 2026 scheduled to begin soon, there are growing concerns that Zaman may not recover in time to participate in the tournament. The fast bowler was expected to play a key role in the league after being picked by the Rawalpindi franchise during the league’s first-ever player auction earlier this year.

Injury setback raises doubts over Zaman Khan’s PSL 2026 participation

Zaman Khan has established himself as one of Pakistan's most promising T20 bowlers during the last few years of his career. His distinctive bowling style which combines a slingy motion with precise yorker delivery during death overs has made him an essential player for various franchise teams in different cricketing leagues.

The pacer played in the Big Bash League 2026 when he joined Brisbane Heat as a replacement player. His domestic and franchise cricket performances have established him as a trustworthy fast bowler who excels in the shortest cricket format.

The injury will prevent him from playing PSL 2026 which will create a major setback for both the player and his franchise who expected him to become their primary fast bowler. The medical team will observe his rehabilitation process to determine his return date while he currently exists in a recovery period.
