Pakistan player penalized for breaching ICC code after IND-W vs PAK-W clash during ICC Women's World Cup 2025
The Pakistan player has been penalized for breaching the code of conduct of the International Cricket Council (ICC) after the clash between Indian women and Pakistan women during the Women's World Cup 2025.

The Pakistan batter, Sidra Amin, has been reprimanded for breaching the code of conduct of the International Cricket Council (ICC) during the game against India at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo during the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. India came into the contest after winning the curtain raiser against Sri Lanka in Guwahati.
A statement from the ICC has come after the IND-W vs PAK-W clash, which stated that Amin has breached Article 2.2, which is related to ‘abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an International Match.’ It was, however, her first offence in the last 24-month period, and she was given one demerit point for a Level 1 breach.
The incident took place during the 40th over of the second innings when Amin forcefully hit her bat onto the surface after getting dismissed. She admitted the mistake and accepted the sanction, which was proposed by the match referee, Shandre Fritz, and no hearing was needed for the action.

The on-field umpires, Lauren Agenbag and Nimali Perera, the third umpire, Kerrin Klassste, and the fourth umpire, Kim Cotton, levelled the charge. The level 1 offences carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, which could be a maximum of 50% of the player’s match fee as the penalty, and one or two demerit points.
Pakistan’s captain, Fatima Sana, won the toss and decided to bowl first on the surface, which looked a bit slow in the afternoon. They were able to bundle out the Blue Brigade for 247 runs in 50 overs as none of the Indian batters were able to convert their starts into half-centuries. Richa Ghosh was the biggest contributor of the innings with an unbeaten 35 runs in 20 balls at a strike rate of 175.
Pakistan ended up with 159 runs, losing the encounter by 88 runs. Sidra Amin cracked 81 runs in 106 balls, with the help of nine boundaries and one six. Deepti Sharma and Kranti Goud bagged three wickets each in the second innings.
