Pakistan reached to the semifinal of the Asian Games 2026 at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin due to their higher ICC ranking after their quarter-final clash against Hong Kong China ended in a washout due to the persistent rain. However, their dominating performance against Bangladesh in the semifinal shouldered them to the final of the competition.

Pakistan’s captain, Sahibzada Farhan, won the toss and decided to bowl first on a surface which was anticipated to be a Bunsen Burner, making it incredibly hard for the batters to time the bowlers, especially the spinners, who were excellent with their change of pace.

Hasan Nawaz and Abdul Samad rescue a chase from 53/4 to beat Bangladesh

Bangladesh, in the rain-curtailed game of 13 overs, posted a fine score of 111 runs for the loss of seven wickets. It was based on the decent knock from Towhid Hridoy, who nailed 42 runs off just 25 balls at a strike rate of 168, thanks to two boundaries and four over boundaries around the park.

Bangladesh lost their first wicket on 17 runs in 1.4 overs before being restricted to 45/4 in 6.3 overs. None of the other batters was able to stand with Hridoy from the other end. Sufyan Moqim ended up with figures of 3/26 in three overs at an economy rate of 8.70.

Pakistan completed the chase by six wickets with nine balls to spare. Their captain failed for a four-ball one-run knock ass they were reduced to 53/4 in 6.1 overs. But Hasan Nawaz played a superb knock of unbeaten 27 runs in just 22 balls, thanks to two boundaries and two sixes to get them over the line.

Brief Scores: Pakistan 112/4 (Abdul Samad 30*, Rishad Hossain 1/12) beat Bangladesh 111/7 (Towhid Hridoy 42, Sufiyan Moqim 3/26) by 6-wickets.

Who will Pakistan meet in the Gold Medal match? India and Sri Lanka fight for the last spot

Pakistan, thanks to the win, made it into the final of the Asian Games 2026 where they now aim for the Gold Medal. The game takes place on October 03 at the same venue. For the Bronze Medal Clash, Bangladesh will play the morning game on the same day.

The opponents of both these two sides will be decided based on the result of the second semifinal between India and Sri Lanka. The blue brigade, batting first, reached 62/3 in their seven overs after the fall of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who made 38 runs off 21 balls.

The Sri Lanka bowlers have done really well on this surface. However, the fans would perhaps hope for a India win to see the India vs Pakistan clash in the Gold Medal clash.
