PCB clears rape case allegation on Haider Ali to lift ban before T20 World Cup 2026
Ali’s career came to a halt earlier this year when a United Kingdom-born Pakistan woman accused him of the rape case while he was involved in the tour to England with the Pakistan Shaheens’ side. The PCB didn’t waste any time before suspending him immediately, besides describing the step as precautionary.
Meanwhile, the Greater Manchester Police has also closed the case on September 25, concluding there was evidence to arrest the cricket and put him in court. The PCB has allowed the batter to return to professional cricket, which will provide him a chance to feature in the BPL 2025/26.
Haider will be part of the league alongside Muhammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Sahibzada Farhan, Faheem Ashraf, Hussain Talat, Khwaja Nafay, and Ehsanullah. Among some of the notable omissions of the squad, the wicket-keeper batter, Umar Akmal, is part of the group to be denied an NOC.
