Peshawar Zalmi have received a massive boost ahead of the PSL 2026 final after Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana officially rejoined the squad for the title clash. The highly-rated pacer has been granted a fresh No-Objection Certificate by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, allowing him to return in time for the biggest game of the season.

The final is scheduled to take place at Gaddafi Stadium, where Zalmi will look to cap off an impressive campaign with the trophy. Nahid’s return comes at the perfect moment, giving the side an extra edge with the ball in a high-pressure contest.

Peshawar Zalmi strengthen squad with key pace option before big game

Nahid Rana had initially been cleared to play in the PSL only until April 13 before returning home for Bangladesh’s white-ball series against New Zealand. He was part of the national squad but did not feature in the opening T20Is, as selectors focused on workload management.

Following a reassessment, the Bangladesh Cricket Board approved his return, citing the importance of gaining experience in a major franchise final. The decision gives Zalmi one of their most effective bowlers back at a crucial stage of the tournament.

The 23-year-old made a strong impression during his first PSL stint this season. In four matches, Nahid picked up seven wickets at an outstanding average of 10.85 while maintaining an economy rate of just 5.42. His ability to bowl with pace, accuracy, and aggression makes him a valuable weapon for Zalmi heading into the final.

Zalmi will now face the winner of the second Eliminator, where Islamabad United and Hyderabad Kingsmen battle for the remaining final spot. With momentum on their side and Nahid Rana back in the squad, Peshawar Zalmi head into the PSL 2026 final looking stronger than ever.

Peshawar Zalmi booked their place in the final after defeating Islamabad United in the Qualifier and have looked one of the strongest sides in the tournament. Nahid’s return has now added further confidence within the squad and among supporters.

Fans quickly reacted on social media, welcoming the pacer back and calling it the perfect boost before the championship game. Many believe his pace could prove decisive under lights at Gaddafi Stadium.
