Before the IPL 2025 restart after a sudden pause, several teams, including Punjab Kings (PBKS), are currently dealing with injury concerns. New Zealand international and PBKS pacer Lockie Ferguson was ruled out from the tournament for injury reasons, which allowed his fellow countryman Kyle Jamieson to make a comeback in the cash-rich tournament.
The Shreyas Iyer-led team roped in Jamieson for INR 2 crores to replace Ferguson. As per reports, the Kiwi speed star sustained a hamstring injury that did not allow him to further proceed in IPL 2025.
"Punjab Kings (PBKS) have picked Kyle Jamieson as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson, who is ruled out of the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to a hamstring injury. The right-arm Kiwi pacer will join PBKS for INR 2 crore," stated in an IPL statement.

On the other hand, Ferguson had a mediocre performance with Punjab Kings, taking 5 wickets in 4 matches for a 9.17 economy rate.
