Rana and Bumrah breach the TATA IPL’s Code of Conduct, fined on match fees

During Kolkata Knight Riders’ match against Mumbai Indians on April 7, 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, KKR batter Nitesh Rana was censured and fined 10% of his match fees for a level 1 offense. MI’s bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been let off with a reprimand for breaching the code of conduct during the same game. Bumrah had admitted to the Level 1 offense of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the referee’s decision is the final word.

Both the players were part of the clash. IPL said in a release “Nitish Rana from Kolkata Knight Riders has been reprimanded and fined 10 percent of his match-fee for breaching the TATA Indian Premier League’s Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Mumbai Indians at Pune.”

“Jasprit Bumrah from Mumbai Indians has been reprimanded for breaching the TATA Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his match against KKR at Pune”, IPL stated further.

Even though KKR won the match accompanied by Pat Cummin’s excellence had secured their victory and both the offenders have accepted the fault and agreed to the sanction, the exact offenses have not been exposed or explained.

Until any further information is released, we can all just hope and wait for an explanation and expect both the players to be weary next time. As of now, audiences are patiently waiting for the next match to begin and it can be predicted that we will witness some table turnings and strong comebacks. Stay tuned!
