The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain, Rishabh Pant, experienced a slip of tongue with a ‘f**king good team’ phase after their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 defeat against the Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. They were already eliminated off the playoffs race. 

Lucknow will now get another chance to spoil the playoffs party of another side when they would face the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their final game of the campaign at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Pant, during the post-match presentation, used a foul language which the cameras caught and went viral in a few seconds on the social media platforms. He reflected on their team’s performance with both bat and ball in this event.

“We are proud as a team regardless of what our situation is right now. The kind of team we have, we know we can win this. Regardless of anything, we are confident enough as a team and as individuals. It hasn’t gone our way and everyone knows that, but that doesn’t take away the fact that we are a f**#ing good team.” The Lucknow Super Giants wicket-keeper batter expressed. 

The veteran also pointed out the areas they would need to work on as they found themselves at the bottom of the table with just four wins in 13 clashes at a NRR of -0.702.

“There are a few ways to look at it. In the middle overs and then in the last over, the way Archer bowled, I think it was really good. But we could have actually scored five or ten runs more on this kind of wicket when you get that kind of start, and we just couldn’t capitalize in the last over.” The Indian star addressed in the presentation. 

Rajasthan Royals beat Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur —Suryavanshi’s blitz seals the chase

Lucknow batted first and posted a decent score of 220 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Their two openers were sensational with the bat as Mitchell Marsh clubbed 96 runs off 57 balls with 11 boundaries and five sixes while Josh Inglis nailed 60 runs in 29 balls, thanks to seven boundaries and three sixes.

Rajasthan completed the chase by seven wickets with five balls to spare. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed 93 runs off 38 balls at a strike rate of 244.74, thanks to seven boundaries and 10 sixes. They earned the victory and entered the top four, keeping their qualification chances of IPL 2026 Playoffs intact.
