It was a superb moment when Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were together in the middle when the former celebrated his memorable century during the third ODI of the three-match series against England, as the game took place at Lord’s in London. He shared a strong bond with Kohli after the clash.

Rohit didn’t go through a smooth period with the bat in the recent three-match ODI series at home against Afghanistan and failed to put up a big score even in the first couple of ODIs in the England series at Edgbaston and Cardiff.

After the encounter, Rohit shared his bond with Virat Kohli and how they played together throughout their careers. He felt it was good to have the Delhi-born along with him when he reached his three-figure mark.

“We played our entire career together. So, it was nice to have him in the middle. You know, we had a lot of partnerships. It’s always fun batting together. We understand each other so much. Yeah, it’s always nice to be in the middle, bouncing off ideas, trying to see what we can do. So, there were a lot of conversations going around between us when we were batting.” The Indian opener expressed to BCCI.

Rohit had been under immense pressure after his struggle, which grew a few retirement rumours and how he could end his 50-over career after the end of the Lord’s game. But the former Indian captain shut down the outside noise with a superb knock of 138 runs off 110 balls with the help of 17 boundaries and five sixes.

“My job is with the bat, come & play, represent the country - noise has been there ever since I made my debut and till the time I'm here, it's always going to stay here. It doesn't matter; what matters is what I do on the field. My focus is on contributing for the team; that is my focus - Let the noise be there, if there is no noise, there is no fun, my job is inside & their job is outside.” The Nagpur-born addressed.
