Veteran Batter Dismissed by Andre Russell After Scoring 13 Runs
Mumbai Indians (MI) romped to victory in the IPL 2025 season courtesy of an eight-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Wankhede Stadium - this match marking both MI's and KKR's first of the season. MI’s Impact Player for the night, Rohit Sharma, did not have the best of nights at the plate, getting dismissed after scoring a mere 13 runs off 12 balls that included a single boundary before being eliminated by Andre Russell.
Rohit Sharma's Short Innings
Rohit began nicely and hit a six off Harshit Rana during the second over. But his innings ended during the sixth over when KKR brought Andre Russell into the game. On his second legal delivery, Russell got the big steak from Rohit, which was a minor blow to MI's means but not something they couldn't recover from.
MI, post Rohit’s early dismissal, managed to chase down the target with some overs to spare, registering their much-required win in IPL 2025.
