Watch: Rohit Sharma seeks blessings on his visit to Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai

The star Indian batter, Rohit Sharma, visited the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja Ganapat pandal along with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha during the ongoing celebrations of Ganeshotsav ahead of the three-match ODI series against West Indies, beginning next week.  

Rohit will return to action after being away from the game for a decent time when the Indian side featured in a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, followed by the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, which was played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Dressed in traditional attire, the couple, Rohit and Sajdeh, paid their respects to their deity amidst the massive gathering of devotees. As they made their way through the pandal, the crowds of passionate fans chanted ‘Rohit, Rohit’ while capturing the moments on their phones.

Sharma was seen folding his hands in deep prayer before the massive idol as devotional chants filled the entire atmosphere. The Nagpur-born also took a selfie and pictures in the pandal, which went viral quite rapidly on social media platforms.

Rohit has also made a record-breaking debut across Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV with the ‘Family Full House’ on the Sony Sports Networks India. His show has registered the biggest-ever launch day for any property on the platform, after its premiere on September 19.

He started the new season on the same day when the Mumbai batter made his debut for the blue brigade during the T20I clash against England at Kingsmead in Durban.

The visit comes days before Rohit Sharma's return for India's ODI series against West Indies

After the poor knocks for a significant period, Rohit celebrated a fine century for India during the third encounter of the series against England at Lord’s. The right-handed batter, having already retired from the T20I and Test formats of the game, has kept his eyes on the upcoming ODI World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. 

Rohit’s focus will now shift to the three-match ODI series against West Indies, starting on September 27 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The second ODI will be played on September 30 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, followed by the third game on October 03 at the Maharaja Yadavindra International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh.
