Former India test skipper and ODI captain Rohit Sharma has lent his support to the Indian armed forces and has requested Indian citizens to be behind the Indian armed forces. The 38-year-old has urged Indian citizens to stay united in these tough times and act responsibly amidst tensions with the neighbouring country, Pakistan, and refrain from spreading any fake news.
Rohit praised the Indian armed forces through his X account, thanking them for their duties towards the nation. He praised the Indian armed forces for their bravery and determination to destroy terrorist camps in the Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir area under 'Operation Sindoor' that was carried out by the Indian armed forces after terrorists attacked Indian citizens in Pahalgam on the 22nd of April 2025.

Rohit said that the Indian armed forces have stood like a rock, and he saluted them for the courage they have shown. Rohit Sharma's post on X came after India destroyed missile and drone attacks from Pakistan on Thursday night that were targeted at Indian Military Installations like Udhampur, Pathankot, Jammu and other vital military locations. Sirens were alarmed in areas like Akhnoor, Baramulla, Samba, Kupwara, etc, and the Indian armed forces remained vigilant to counter any attacks.
With every passing moment, with every decision taken I feel extremely proud of our Indian Army, Indian Airforce & Indian Navy. Our warriors are standing tall for our nation’s pride. It’s important for every Indian to be responsible and refrain from spreading or believing any fake…

Due to the ongoing situation, the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala had to be suspended after a blackout as air raid alerts were reported in Jammu and Pathankot. After the suspension of the match, players and support staff of both teams were shifted to Delhi through a special train from Pathankot. Chandigarh, Kangra, and Dharamshala airports had to be closed.
Meanwhile, as per recent reports, BCCI has confirmed that the IPL is being suspended for one week after consultation with the Indian Government as the tensions between both countries. The IPL Governing Council didn't waste any time in making the decision, keeping in mind the safety of the players.
