Watch: Ryan Rickelton smashes Praful Hinge for towering six during MI vs SRH clash in IPL 2026
The Mumbai Indians' opener, Ryan Rickelton, smashed Praful Hinge for a massive six during the MI vs SRH clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 campaign in Mumbai.

In a curious way, Hardik Pandya displayed only the sixth instance of a captain winning the toss and opting to bat first during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 as he decided the fixture between the Mumbai Indians and the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
The home crowd, however, wasn’t happy as their favorite Rohit Sharma’s return to the game was delayed as he continues to recover from the hamstring injury. But the home side formed a new opening stand of Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton, who replaced injured Quinton de Kock in the playing eleven.
Ryan Rickelton nails massive six against Hinge in IPL 2026
It was a bit of an odd decision from the management to drop Rickelton, who contributed decently with the bat inside the powerplay. He welcomed Praful Hinge for a massive six as he picked the length delivery on the off stump and heaved it over the deep mid-wicket region for a massive six.
In the next over, the left-handed batter muscled the first ball of the third over against Pat Cummins for a boundary through the mid-wicket region before backing it up with another boundary on the very next ball straight down the ground.

Will Jacks was excellent from the other end in countering the pacers and spinners equally, creating issues for Pat Cummins to round up his bowlers, who were under massive pressure.
MI make clinical start inside powerplay
Rickelton continued his aggressive approach till the end of the powerplay as he clubbed the very first ball of Sakib Hussain over the deep square leg region for a massive six before powering the short delivery deep into the cow corner fence for the same result. On the fourth ball, the Protea batter used the width and threw his bat to the fuller length delivery to get a boundary in the cover-point region.
Mumbai finished the powerplay with 78 runs without any wickets as Rickelton raced away to 37 runs off just 18 balls with a similar number from the England all-rounder. It was a great platform for the five-time champions to cross the 230-run mark.
Brief Scores (at the time of writing): MI- 110/1 (Ryan Rickelton 56*, Nitish Reddy 1/17) vs SRH.
