SA vs WI, 1st T20I

South Africa and West Indies will kick off their three-match T20I series with the first match at Boland Park in Paarl on Tuesday, January 27. Both sides will hope to get their series off to a positive start as they gear up for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Coming into this series, South Africa had a challenging outing against India, losing the five-match T20I series 1-3, with one match being washed out. Despite the outcome, the team led by Aiden Markram displayed moments of quality and will feel confident playing at home. With the T20 World Cup on the horizon, the Proteas will be looking to fine-tune their combination and get some momentum going in this series.

West Indies recently lost a T20I series 1-2 to Afghanistan in Dubai. They were without a few key players during that series due to SA20 commitments, and their return adds more balance to the squad. The Caribbean side will be eager to improve their consistency, especially with both bat and ball, and challenge South Africa on their home turf.

SA vs WI: Pitch Report

The Boland Park pitch has tended to favor the batsmen, with first innings totals around 170. While teams have had more success batting first, the pitch will slow down towards the latter stages of the match, allowing the bowlers to come into play. The toss could be a crucial factor.
