The match was going well for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) until the last over of the first innings came. Over-boundaries flew all over the Sawai Mansingh Stadium when Abdul Samad met with Sandeep Sharma. The right-handed batter from J&K smashed 26 runs alone in the 20th over and a single from David Miller, a total of 27 runs from a single over.
Riyan Parag is leading the side tonight as Rajasthan Royals regular captain Sanju Samson is unavailable for today's contest due to injury. RR bowlers were controlling the match in a disciplined manner against LSG, despite Aiden Markram's 60 and a 50 from Ayush Badoni. Wanindu Hasaranga and Tushar Deshpande appeared as two major hurdles for LSG batters while they needed to rotate their strike with more pace.
Even during the 19th over, 180 looked too far for the Lucknow-based side. But Samad stepped into the field with a different plan— pulling out all guns and activating destruction mode.

Before Samad's dance of destruction, the 20th over started with a single by Miller, then the climax of the innings. The young batter launched the ball 4 times into orbit and a double—26 runs in 5 balls by Abdul Samad.
Sandeep was clearly under pressure, misfiring, a couple of full tosses, misplaced slower deliveries, an outside off-stump ball, and the rest was Samad's footwork and execution with raw power. The only thing Riyan Parag could do that time was look at the heavens.
Lucknow Super Giants finished their first innings with 180 runs for 5 wickets on board. Abdul Samad with his flashy innings score unbeaten 30 off 10 balls, strike rate 300.00.
