India's star batter Sanju Samson slammed another half-century against England in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. The semi-final match is happening at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, where he scored an 89-run knock before getting dismissed by Will Jacks.

Samson played some of the best shots of the tournament but missed out on the well-deserved century by just 11 runs. Despite losing Abhishek Sharma early, Samson went on to continue striking the ball along with Ishan Kishan. Both batters put up a 97-run partnership in the match before getting dismissed.

The right-handed batter was out in the 13th over when Jacks bowled a tossed-up delivery round the wicket. Samson tried to hit the ball, but it went where the fielder was. Samson hit eight boundaries and seven sixes in the match.

He played a fearless innings today and would have hoped to score a century as well, but this innings was extremely important and helped India put up a powerful target on the board. He got the proper support from the team and that helped India put 253 runs on the board.

The pitch was flat: Ishan Kishan

India's left-handed batter Ishan Kishan mentioned that the pitch was flat and he got great support from Samson from the other end. Kishan ended up scoring 39 off 18 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes.

"When I want in, Sanju got a few boundaries. The pitch was flat. We had to get the momentum going. I had to play good cricketing shots. It's a very good wicket and we have to bowl in a very good manner today. The plan was clear - if the ball there, you go for it," said Ishan Kishan.
