Shadab Khan’s one-handed catch goes viral

During the final of the National Champions Cup 2026 between Pakistan Gold and Pakistan Greens at the Multan Cricket Stadium, the Gold side batted first and posted a massive total, during which Shadab Khan’s one-handed airborne catch went viral on social media.

Shadab Khan has always been a tremendous fielder in the game for the national side, as he covers a lot of ground and grabs some superb catches around the field. Even at this age, he has been brilliant in the field.

Shadab Khan stunned everyone with a spectacular one-handed diving catch

It was the third delivery of the 34th over of the innings when the centurion opening batter of the side, Shamyl Hussain, looked to go over the top against the short delivery of Faheem Ashraf. The left-handed batter failed to get the desired elevation off the shot as the ball didn’t get the distance.

Shadab Khan was inside the 30-yard circle and dived to his right to grab the superb one-handed airborne catch that went viral on social media. That was an unbelievable catch from the all-rounder, who kept his eyes on it until the last moment and had the ball in his hands despite his hands being banged on the ground.

The veteran made the catch look quite simple at the end, which wasn’t the case at all. He has slowly become one of the best fielders of the side.

Pakistan Gold won the final by 101 runs vs Pakistan Greens

Pakistan Gold batted first and were bundled out for 340 runs in their allotted 50 overs. Shamyl nailed a dashing knock of 111 runs off 93 balls at a strike rate of 119.35 with 11 boundaries and four sixes, while their number four, Saad Khan, cracked 112 runs off 102 balls.

Shadab had a decent day too with the ball as he returned with figures of 2/45 in 10 overs, along with Faheem’s 2/40 in six overs. With the bat, they needed all their batters to make strong contributions from top to bottom.

Pakistan Green, in reply, were bundled out for 239 runs. Saad Baig got 67 runs off 51 balls, smashing nine boundaries and a pair of sixes. Shaheen Afridi, who enjoyed a fine hat-trick in the game, returned with figures of 7/36 in 8.4 overs as they earned the victory by 101 runs.
