After India Women were sent to bat first in the Final, the hosts scored 298/7 in 50 overs, where Shafali Verma recorded the highest score in her Women's ODI career by scoring a crucial 87 runs off 78 balls with seven fours and two sixes. Then she surprisingly shone with the ball in hand.

It was the game-changer for India Women, as South Africa Women suddenly found themselves under pressure from 114/2 to 123/4.
