Major injury concerns over Shreyas Iyer. Through a social media post, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the vice captain of India's ODI team has sustained an injury to his left rib cage during the Australia vs India 3rd ODI match (AUS vs IND 3rd ODI) at the Sydney Cricket Ground. For further treatment, Iyer has been taken to the hospital.
During the first innings of the match, when Australia was batting, Shreyas Iyer took a splendid catch. To dismiss Alex Carey, he covered a good amount of ground and then threw his body into the air to grab the ball. The ball was in the safe hand of Iyer, but the landing was rough. As soon as Iyer hit the ground, he was in visible pain. In fact, because of pain, he was not able to celebrate the wicket-taking moment. The team physio rushed onto the ground for initial medical support, but it was perhaps not enough. As per the BCCI statement, the injury can be more serious than it was assumed before.
"Shreyas Iyer sustained an injury to his left rib cage while fielding. He has been taken to the hospital for further evaluation and assessment of his injury," BCCI informed through their social media post.

Shreyas Iyer injured his left rib
In this match, Team India players displayed some top-class fielding efforts throughout the first innings. Virat Kohli also completed an expectational catch in the game. After securing back-to-back wins in the previous two matches of the 3-match ODI series, the batting order of Australia struggled a lot in the 3rd match. The home team registered only 236 in exchange for 10 wickets in 46.4 overs.
Every bowler of Team India has taken a wicket in the match in Sydney. Proving many haters wrong, Harshit Rana emerged as the best bowler of the night by clinching 4 scalps in 8.4 overs against only a 4.5 economy rate. But the injury of Iyer remains as the concern for Team India and Indian cricket fans.
