Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 49th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 at Hyderabad on May 6. Both were defeated in their last games and will be looking to return to winning ways in this match. This match is important as both teams want to stay strong in the points table.

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders. They scored 165 runs while batting first. Travis Head played well and scored 61 runs. But their bowlers could not defend the total, and KKR chased it easily. SRH are still in third place with 12 points and will try to bounce back.

Punjab Kings also had a disappointing match against Gujarat Titans. They scored 163 runs, which looked slightly below par on a batting-friendly pitch. Suryansh Shedge scored a good 57, and Marcus Stoinis added 40 runs, but the rest of the batting did not do much. Their bowlers tried hard but could not defend the total. Even after this loss, PBKS are at the top of the table, but they will want a strong performance here.

SRH vs PBKS: Pitch Report

The pitch at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is good for batting. The ball comes nicely on to the bat so the batsmen can play shots and score big runs. If they bowl in right areas bowlers can still succeed. The last game was a day match, so the pitch played a little differently. Conditions can change during a night fixture. Dew is likely to set in during the second half which is usually known to make batting easier and makes it difficult for bowlers to hold on the ball.
