Steve Smith is renowned for his superb catching in the cricket field as he continued to do the same during the third day of the second Test match between Australia and South Africa at Kingsmead in Durban. His superb catch dismissed Kyle Verreynne as the hosts found themselves under massive pressure.
Despite being under pressure early in the clash, Matt Renshaw’s super knock of 190 runs off 397 balls saved the tourists and flew them to a strong score of 390 runs in the first innings. He was well supported by the lower order of the Australian side.

It was the fifth ball of the 54th over of the innings from Nathan Lyon. Kyle Verreynne was getting edgy with the off-spinner persisting outside the off-stump line and getting turn with the sharp bounce. The right-handed batter tried to go for the sweep, but the bowler forced him to change the shot.

Verreynne tried the reverse sweep and hit it well. That was not even a proper edge, but Smith anticipated it early on, seeing the batter shape up. He moved to his right as the ball stuck to his right hand. He pulled off the stunner.
