Hyderabad Might Lose Sunrisers Hyderabad Matches Over Ticket Row

Hyderabad, March 30, 2025 – There is a huge rift between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). It concerns the demand of HCA for a huge quantity of free match tickets, which SRH management refuses to accept.
This standoff can compel the team to relocate its home matches away from Hyderabad.

Principal Reasons behind the Dispute
Demand for Free Tickets: HCA has been known to request 3,900 complimentary passes, 10% of the overall stadium capacity.
Pressure on SRH: Pressure is mounting on franchise management to provide extra passes, corporate box and VIP seats.

Threats to the Organization of the Match: In the event of non-cooperation by SRH, they are concerned with causing undue hindrances to hosting matches.

Possible Penalties
SRH officials have been irked with HCA's insistence on persistent demands. They have already met the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to discuss alternative solutions.
If this issue is not resolved at the earliest, the team may shift its home games to another city.
A similar row had happened earlier over ticket allocation, but this time around, the situation seems more critical. The management of the team feels that such off-field controversies are distracting them from cricket.
