Former Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav surprised fans with his stylish runway debut at Lakme Fashion Week 2026 in New Delhi on October 19. The India T20I star became the showstopper for Ethnix by Raymond, but it was his signature batting pose on the ramp that grabbed attention. The highlight of the Suryakumar Yadav runway debut was his playful signature shot pose during the show. Instead of simply walking down the ramp, the Indian batter imitated his famous batting stance, reminding fans of his unique style on the field. The Suryakumar Yadav signature shot turned his fashion appearance into a memorable moment for cricket fans.

Suryakumar served as the Suryakumar Yadav Ethnix by Raymond showstopper for the brand's Wedding Stories collection. He wore an ivory Indo-Western jacket with a classic Mandarin collar over a matching tunic and straight-fit white trousers. Multicolored Gresham embroidery inspired by Indian chintz floral designs added detail to the outfit, which he completed with a delicate necklace and classic shoes.

Why was Suryakumar Yadav left out of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad?

While Suryakumar was making headlines for his fashion appearance, questions had also emerged about his absence from Mumbai's Ranji Trophy squad. Despite reportedly confirming his availability, the former India T20I captain was left out of the team's season-opening squad. The Suryakumar Yadav Ranji Trophy selection decision was linked to his lack of recent red-ball match practice.

Mumbai chief selector Rajesh Pawar explained that Suryakumar had not played red-ball cricket for around one and a half years. Pawar said the batter could return to the side after playing a few red-ball matches, highlighting the importance of match practice. This provided the main explanation for why Suryakumar Yadav was dropped from Mumbai's squad, according to the reported comments.

The selection committee included Yashasvi Jaiswal in the squad after he confirmed his availability, while Siddhesh Lad was named captain for the season opener against Chandigarh. Suryakumar's omission does not mean he has permanently lost his chance to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy.
