T20 World Cup 2026: Shahebzada Farhan breaks Kohli record in PAK vs SL clash

In a remarkable achievement, Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan breaks Virat Kohli’s record during the PAK vs SL Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2026. With the new record, Farhan is now holding the record for scoring the most runs in a single T20 World Cup edition. 

In a must-win match, Sahibzada Farhan scored a century before losing his wicket to Dilshan Madushanka. In 60 balls, the opener scored 100 with nine 4s and five 6s, with a strike rate of
166.67.

Before reaching the hundred-run mark, the 29-year-old surpassed the Indian great. Because of Farhand’s 100, Pakistan registered a well-competitive total of 212 of 8 wickets. Along with Farhan, another opener of the team scored84 off 42. For the opening stand, Pakistan got 176 runs for the opening stand.

Azam is in the list in fourth place with 303 runs. The batter scored 303 during their campaign in the 2021 season.
