The cricketing legend and the former Indian captain, Sachin Tendulkar, has thanked his three guiding hands, who contributed immensely to play a crucial role in shaping his career from the outset, in celebration of the Teachers’ Day occasion. He expressed his gratitude towards the three guiding hands. 

Sachin, the former Indian batter, took his ‘X’ account (formerly known as Twitter) to express his gratitude towards his father, Ramesh Tendulkar, his first coach, Ramakant Vitthal Achrekar, and his brother Ajit for offering him guidance during his journey. He put an emotional post with their picture.

“The journey started with a coin, a kit bag, and three guiding hands: my father, Achrekar sir, and Ajit. Grateful, always. #TeachersDay.” The leading run-getter of the game across format with 34357 runs in 782 innings at an average of 48.52 and a strike rate of 67.58, shouldering on 164 half-centuries and 100 centuries at the best score of unbeaten 248 runs against Australia.

Sachin Tendulkar offers emotional post to celebrate Teachers’ Day

Tendulkar is the highest run-scorer in the 50-over format. The right-handed batter has notched up 18246 runs in 452 innings at an average of 44.83 and a strike rate of 86.23, thanks to 96 half-centuries and 49 centuries at the best score of unbeaten 200 runs. In Tests, he has scored 15921 runs in 329 Test innings with 51 centuries and 68 fifties.

Sachin’s father, Ramesh Tendulkar, passed away more than two and half decades ago when he was 26 years old. He often shares the old stories of the moments he shared with his father. His coach, Achrekar, has passed away at an age of 87 on January 02, 2019. He refined his batting technique under the coach and took the steps towards being one of the all-time cricketing greats.

Achrekar was conferred with the Dronacharya award in 1990 for his incredible contribution to the game as a coach. He also earned the Padma Shri Award in 2010, one of the highest civilian awards of the country. He also often thanked his elder brother, Ajit, for his contribution in the early moments of his journey, with his huge support and guidance in the game.
