It is a crucial game for both SRH and CSK, who are battling with four points each after five matches, with two wins and three losses. A win means returning to the stronger challenging position in the early mid-season.
After Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss, he sent the hosts SRH to bat first. SRH openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head set a strong start for the hosts, setting a perfect platform for a big total.

SRH get stormy start before losing wickets regularly
However, in the last two balls of the powerplay, SRH lost back-to-back wickets, finishing the powerplay with 75 for 2. After the powerplay, SRH were losing wickets at regular intervals. However, Heinrich Klaasen played a crucial knock that guided the hosts to the challenging first innings total. In fact, the former Proteas star was the only other name apart from both openers to reach the 20-run mark in that innings.

With his brilliant half-century, Klaasen also moved to the top of the most runs scored in the IPL 2026. The right-handed batter scored 59 off 39 balls with six fours and two sixes, as his batting helped SRH to manage the total of 194/9 in 20 overs.
