Rohit Sharma was under tremendous pressure coming into the three-match ODI series against Australia down under. In the second 50-over clash at the Adelaide Oval, the right-handed batter smashed a fine fifty after his initial struggle against Josh Hazlewood’s opening new ball spell. But the question was whether he could repeat the same performance during the third game at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

In the 237-run chase, Rohit started fluently for India against Mitchell Starc with a boundary before showing his aggressive inside the first 10 overs of the innings. When the field opened up, the Nagpur-born kept rotating the single and made his way to another milestone.

Rohit Sharma took a single into the leg side off Nathan Ellis to celebrate his 60th half-century in the 50-over format. He raised his bat and perhaps put a statement against all the criticism that he received in the last five weeks.

Rohit Sharma, after the fifty, seemed to be a taking a new guard which suggested that he perhaps aimed to celebrate a century deep into the game.
