During the opening clash of the ACC Men’s U-19 Asia Cup 2025, India’s upcoming sensational batter, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, displayed his class in another brutal knock with the bat against the United Arab Emirates at the ICC Academy Ground. Batting first, the Blue Brigade lost their captain, Ayush Mhatre, early in the innings for four runs.

That was the time when they needed to settle themselves. But Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who thumped a special century against the same side two weeks ago in the A-game, didn’t hold back and cracked a special century in just 56 balls. He also put up a partnership of over 175 runs for the second wicket with Aaron George, who celebrated his respective fifty with the bat.

With a single on the 21st over, Suryavanshi notched up his century. After the end of 23 overs, the Indian team had 184 runs on the board for the loss of one wicket while Suryavanshi was unbeaten on 117 runs in 64 balls, scoring five boundaries and 11 sixes at a strike rate of 182.81.

The 14-year-old left-handed opening batter has already impressed the entire world with his hard hitting. But his record of 132 runs in six innings of the List-A cricket wasn’t superb at an average of 22. But this century will be a fine answer to those critics.
