Twitter Reactions: Virat Kohli completes 9000 IPL runs during DC vs RCB clash in IPL 2026
The fans on Twitter have reacted to Virat Kohli celebrating 9000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the DC vs RCB encounter of the 2026 edition.

When the Delhi Capitals were bundled out for just 75 runs during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the only question was how fast the visitors could complete the chase and boost their net run rate, which will be valuable towards the end of the event.
It was a nightmarish evening for the home side, who have now lost five of their last six clashes, including a hat-trick of them, and will have only a few days before coming back strong against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on May 01.
Virat Kohli notches up 9000 runs in IPL history
Virat Kohli continues to add feathers in his milestone book as he completed 9000 runs in the history of the event. He stands at the top of the table with 9012 runs in 267 innings at an average of 40.05 and a strike rate of 133.80 with eight centuries and 66 half-centuries at the best score of unbeaten 113 runs.
Amidst the massive cheer, Kohli got the landmark with a single. On the second ball of the seventh over, he reached out to the full and wide delivery against T Natarajan straight down the ground to clear the fence for a massive six.
The Delhi-born took his side over the line with another over boundary, as he picked the length from the left-arm seamer and went on the back foot to slam the pull over the deep mid-wicket region for the same result. Earlier, he drilled Dushmantha Chameera for a straight boundary.
Kohli was well supported by Devdutt Padikkal in the chase as the left-handed batter remained unbeaten on 34 runs off 13 balls at a strike rate of 261.54 with the help of three boundaries and as many sixes.
Earlier, Delhi got bundled out for just 75 runs in 16.3 overs, which is now their third-lowest score of the event. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood shared a brutal figure of 7/17 in 6.3 overs, while Suyash Sharma had 1/7 in four overs, including a maiden. RCB made a massive improvement of their NRR.
Brief Scores: RCB 77/1 (D Paddikal 34*, Kyle Jamieson 1/42) beat DC 75 (Abhishek Porel 30, Josh Hazlewood 4/12, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 3/10) by nine wickets and 81 balls to spare.
