Vaibhav Sooryavanshi turned bowler to make an impact, picking up two wickets for East Zone in the Duleep Trophy 2026. Watch the moment his spell caught everyone's attention, along with the fan reaction

Having earned recognition as the premier and aggressive batter in the shortest format of the game, the 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has shown his ability with the ball, taking two wickets in four balls for the East Zone during the 2026 Duleep Trophy in Bengaluru.
Sooryavanshi showed his bowling a bit during the U-19 games and came up to roll his arm over during the Duleep Trophy game against the North-East side. It would be a massive advantage for the Indian side if he shows his all-round performance, growing as a part-time left-arm spinner.
The spell that stole the show — Sooryavanshi's 2-wicket burst for East Zone
On the second delivery of his second over, Sooryavanshi dismissed Kishan Lyngdoh. He gave the ball full air and invited the right-handed batter to use his feet and smash the big shot out of the park. But he couldn’t get the ball from the middle half of the bat and lobbed it in the air before the sub-fielder, Denish Das, grabbed a good catch.

The bowler and the entire side appealed as the umpire raised his finger to send the batter back. Sooryavanshi had figures of 2/11 in three overs at an economy rate of 3.70 as the East Zone found themselves at 102/8 on being followed on.
