Watch: Virat Kohli-Shubman Gill engaged in heated argument during practice ahead of 1st ODI vs WI

Two days before the beginning of the opening ODI of the three-match series against West Indies, during the second practice session of the Indian side, Shubman Gill was seen to get engaged in a heated argument with Virat Kohli as the video went viral around the social media platforms.  

Kohli returns to the action after the end of the three-match ODI series against England in the United Kingdom, when he celebrated two successive fifties in the last two clashes. Meanwhile, Gill will be back in the 50-over format after the Test series against Sri Lanka that they won by 1-0 margin.

Kohli-Gill heated exchange at practice sparks concern ahead of West Indies series

On the opening day of the practice session for India on September 24, Gill and Kohli were seen to be sharing a laugh in the field. They are back in the field together after the England series. Both of them are really competitive and share a strong bond between them.

However, the second practice session on September 25 at the Greenfield International Stadium gave a different scenario when Kohli was seen to be unhappy with a fielding position in the fielding. He asked the fielding coach to change a specific position, and that was when they called Gill.

The Indian captain was taking throwdowns at the time and walked up to Kohli, who also walked at Shubman Gill, pointing at something. The other members of the Indian side also gathered at the place during their net session. 

India gear up for 1st ODI vs West Indies as Kohli and Rohit return to the squad

The opening clash of the ODI series between India and West Indies will be played ain Thiruvananthapuram on September 27, as the game will begin at 2:00 om IST, with the toss taking place 30 minutes before the beginning of the encounter. They will be up against the Shai Hope-led side.

The two sides have faced each other in 142 ODIs, out of which the blue brigade has won 72 games while the Caribbean side won 64 ODIs, along with four no-results and two tied fixtures.
