Shubman Gill set to shift to Mumbai as dating rumours resurface

The ODI captain of the Indian side, Shubman Gill, is again making headlines off the field, and this isn’t about his batting performance. He is reportedly set to shift base to Mumbai, having bought an apartment on the 12th floor in Juhu, as the news has sparked rumors about his dating life.

Gill recently featured in the Shere-e-Punjab T20 league 2026 in Mohali for a couple of games after the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Galle and Colombo, which they went on to draw by a margin of 1-1.

Gill has bought a lavish apartment on the 12th floor of the ‘Pooja Luminarie’ in Juhu, which is the city’s most renowned place, as the deal was valued at INR 20.7 crore, with Gill paying an additional INR 1.24 crore in stamp duty alone. The 3369 sq. ft. adds to a growing list of players.

The fans have once again linked this to Sara Tendulkar, daughter of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, as the two have been the subject of dating speculation on and off since 2020. Gill, however, has many times clarified that his sole focus at this time has been on the game.

“There have been so many rumours and speculations linking me with different people. And sometimes, it would be so ridiculous that I’ve never seen or met that person ever in my life. Right now, I’m so focused on what I need to do in my professional career.” Gill expressed.

“There’s no space in my life to be able to be with someone. Three hundred days, we’re on the road, travelling somewhere. So there’s hardly any time to invest in a relationship with someone.” He addressed.

Gill has been superb in the 50-over format for the Indian side, having smashed 3379 runs in 66 innings at an average of 60.33 and a firing strike rate of 100.95, with the help of nine centuries and 20 half-centuries at the best score of 208 runs, which came against New Zealand in Ahmedabad.

Gill will be eager to continue the same approach and form in the upcoming series against West Indies as preparation for the next year’s ODI World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. The ODI series against the Shai Hope-led side begins on September 27 in Thiruvananthapuram.
