Watch: Kohli ignores Gambhir again ahead of IND vs WI 1st ODI

During their first practice session ahead of the opening ODI of the three-match series between India and West Indies at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Virat Kohli was again seen to be ignoring their head coach, Gautam Gambhir, as the video went viral on social media platforms.

Kohli returns to the action in the 50-over format, having retired from the T20Is and Tests, after the end of the three-match series against England in the United Kingdom. He smashed a couple of half-centuries during the series at Edgbaston and Lord’s and hopes to continue in the same form.

Kohli-Gambhir cold vibes resurface as old pattern repeats ahead of West Indies series

It was during a moment of the practice session against West Indies when Gambhir was seen to be engaged in a discussion with the Indian captain, Shubman Gill, towards the end of their net session as the players were making their way back to the dressing room. That was when the cameras caught Kohli.

The former Indian captain was also getting back to the pavilion after ending his practice session. He walked past Gill and Gambhir’s discussion and didn’t even look at the Indian head coach, adding another chapter to the relationship between the player and head coach.

The same incident took place during last year’s ODI at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) in Ranchi against South Africa, when Kohli returned to the pavilion and didn’t even look at Gambhir, which was part of this chapter as it went viral on social media platforms.

India vs West Indies 1st ODI set to begin in Thiruvananthapuram on September 27

The opening clash of the ODI series between India and West Indies will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on September 27. The clash will begin at 2:00 pm IST, while the toss will take place 30 minutes before the start of the encounter. West Indies, under Shai Hope, aim to win their first ODI series in India after 24 years.
