The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have registered a huge win against the arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 in Mumbai. The Super Kings won the game by 103 runs, which is MI's biggest margin of defeat in IPL history. It was indeed an embarrassing day for the hosts as the batters didn't click and the bowlers went for a lot of runs in the powerplay.
CSK were invited to bat first, and despite losing early wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sarfaraz Khan, and Shivam Dube, the team managed to stick around and hit boundaries. The short cameos of Dewald Brevis and Prashant Veer helped CSK. However, the century from Sanju Samson was the real reason behind their victory today. He helped them score 207 runs in the first innings and was terrific with the gloves as well.
The bowling department of the Super Kings did all the magic as they bowled out MI for 104 runs. Akeal Hosein claimed four wickets while Noor Ahmad picked up two. The turning point of the game came when Quinton de Kock was dismissed by Mukesh Choudhary. De Kock is an in-form player and recently played an incredible knock in the tournament. His presence could have hurt the Men in Yellow.

The CSK fans were happy with the team's victory in the tournament. With this win, they have reached the fifth position in the tournament, and their NRR has improved as well. From here on, they will plan to win all seven matches, script a comeback as they did in 2010, and qualify for the playoffs first. The upcoming matches will be extremely crucial for the Super Kings.
