The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final game between Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir has taken a huge turn and no one would have anticipated that. J&K scored 584 runs in the first innings, thanks to Shubham Pundir's century and other players' contributions.

When Karnataka batters came to bat, fans anticipated a similar performance. To everyone's surprise, they lost four wickets as we write. Among those wickets was KL Rahul, who was the first wicket for J&K. They were ecstatic on sending a dangerous batter back to the pavilion. Auqib Nabi was outstanding with the ball as he went on to take two more wickets.

For Rahul, he bowled a back-of-a-length delivery on off, and the batter tried to take the bat away but failed to do so and got a faint edge. The fielding team appealed for caught behind and then went for a review. As it turned out, the ball did touch the bat and went straight to the wicket-keeper. The late movement of the ball got Rahul confused and hence, the dismissal.

Jammu and Kashmir are having a great time on the field, with the bat and the ball. If the bowlers manage to bowl them out early and then take a huge lead, the match is over for Karnataka. This will be J&K's first title in Ranji Trophy history.

J&K put 584 runs in first innings against Karnataka

Karnataka's bowling lineup has players like Shreyas Gopal, Prasidh Krishna, and many more. Despite that, they went on to give away 584 runs against Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy final. For the batting team, Shubham Pundir scored 141 in 247 balls, including 12 boundaries and two sixes, followed by Paras Dogra's 70, Abdul Samad's 61, Kanhaiya Wadhawan's 70, and Sahil Lotra's 72 runs.

The batters have been in solid form throughout the tournament, but not struggling against an experienced bowling attack is where they peaked. The game is tilting towards Jammu and Kashmir unless someone from Karnataka play's an incredible knock and snatches the game away from them.
