India batter Shreyas Iyer was seen sharing a light moment with the paparazzi in Bandra, Mumbai, on Thursday, February 5. The 31-year-old was part of India’s squad for the recently concluded five-match T20I series against New Zealand, where he was a replacement for Tilak Varma.
However, Iyer did not play in any of the matches as Suryakumar Yadav’s team won the series 4-1, sealing it with a 46-run win in the final T20I on January 31 in Thiruvananthapuram.
While taking some time off from cricket, the Mumbai cricketer was filmed on Thursday. As he walked towards his car, he jokingly told the paparazzi:
"Abey yaar, traffic kar rahe ho tum log." [You guys are causing traffic]

In the Indian Premier League, Iyer has played 133 matches, scoring 3,731 runs in 132 innings. He has maintained an average of 34.22 with a strike rate of 133.34. The right-handed batter has scored 27 half-centuries, with his highest score being an unbeaten 97, showing consistency in the middle order over the years.
International Cricket Record
Shreyas Iyer has also made his mark in international cricket. In Tests, he has played 14 matches, scoring 811 runs at an average of 36.86, including five fifties and one century. In ODIs, he has appeared in 76 matches, scoring 2,977 runs in 70 innings at an average of 46.51 with a strike rate of 98.57. He has hit 23 half-centuries and five centuries and was part of the Indian squad that won the 2025 Champions Trophy under Rohit Sharma. In T20Is, Iyer has played 51 matches, scoring 1,104 runs in 47 innings at an average of 30.66 with a strike rate of 136.12, including eight fifties. His last appearance in T20Is was in December 2023.
