The two arch rivals, India and Pakistan, faced each other during their respective second game of the Men’s U-19 Asia Cup 2025 at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. The Indian side, who were coming into the clash on the back of their powerful victory against the United Arab Emirates, didn’t enjoy a great start with the bat.

They lost their in-form left-handed opening batter, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, while their captain, Ayush Mhatre, slammed a decent yet small knock. Their number three batter, Aaron George, nailed a fine knock of 85 runs in 88 balls at a strike rate of 96.59 with the help of 12 boundaries and one six. Apart from him, there wasn’t much contribution with the bat.

Pakistan showed some fine performance in the field as they grabbed some incredible catches. One of them was by Ahmed Hussain to dismiss the number five batter of the Indian side, Vedant Trivedi, on seven runs.

Ahmed Hussain’s air-borne catch dismisses India’s Vedant Trivedi

The incident took place on the fifth ball of the 20th over when the left-arm spinner, N Shafiq, bowled a short ball to the right-handed batter, who went back in his crease and cut the delivery into the point region. But Hussain was sharp in understanding the speed of the delivery as he flew in the air and grabbed the air-borne catch. He was also excellent in not dropping the ball while getting smashed on the ground.

It was a short and wide ball from the spinner, but that fine catch could now get him voting for the best catch of the event. Hussain gave a cool look at holding such catches every single day of his career. Kanish Chouhan was the second leading run-getter of the Indian side with 46 runs, thanks to two boundaries and three sixes.

India got bundled out for 240 runs in 46.1 overs, while both Mohammad Sayyam and Abdul Subhan picked up three wickets each. Niqab Shafiq finished with figures of 2/38 in nine overs, along with a maiden at an economy rate of 4.20.
